Well Person

These general health checks are offered to all men and women aged 25 to 65 years. The aim is to prevent heart attacks, strokes, cervical, breast and testicular cancer. Please telephone the surgery for an appointment with the Practice’s HCA.


Cervical Smear Screening

Women are recommended to have regular cervical smears every three years to check the neck of the womb is healthy and there are no signs of changes that could develop into cancer. This is usually carried out by the Practice Nurse but if you prefer a Doctor can take your smear during surgery hours.


Over 75s

All those patients over 75 years of age, who have not seen a Doctor in the past year, are invited for a general check up by the Practice’s HCA.


Diabetic Clinic

If you are a diabetic you will be invited to an annual appointment with the HCA and doctor. Approximately a week before your appointment you will be asked to have a blood test either at the surgery or if you prefer at Solihull or Heartlands hospital. You will also be requested to bring a urine sample to the appointment.


Coronary Heart Disease (CHD) Care

The practice nurses see CHD patients by appointment.


Asthma\COPD Clinics

Every Friday morning 09:00 – 12:30 by appointment only.


Family Planning

Full family planning advice and services are available with a doctor or nurse during normal consulting times.


Antenatal Care

Every Wednesday afternoon by appointment with the midwife. Doctors are happy to provide antenatal care and postnatal care. If you think you may be pregnant, please arrange to see a doctor as soon as possible to confirm this and have a check-up. Arrangements will be made for you to see the midwife. 


Warfarin Clinic

Every Thursday morning, 11:00 to 13:00, by appointment only.



The Practice holds flu clinics in September/October each year and these are advertised at the surgery and on the website. For any other routine injections please contact reception for an appointment with the Practice Nurse.

We hold a walk-in child immunisation clinic every Tuesday between 10.45 am and 12.00 noon.


Minor Operations

These are available at the surgery at a doctors’ discretion.


Joint Injections

The doctors also carry out some joint injections to relieve pain.

GP Income

All GP practices are required to declare the mean earnings( e.g. average pay) for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice.

The average pay for GPs working at Richmond Medical Centre Surgery in the last financial year was £45,470 before tax and national insurance. This is for 3 full time GPs and 1 part time GP who worked for the practice for 6 months or more.
